Discovering Darwin

The National Museum of Ireland- Natural History

Saturday 28th November 2009, 9.30am to 4pm, Palatine Room, Collins Barracks.

"On the Origin of Species by Means of the Natural Selection" by Charles Darwin was published on the 24th of November 1859.  Since then there has scarcely been a more revolutionary book in the realm of science.

On the 28th of November the National Museum of Ireland- Natural History is holding a one-day seminar celebrating the 150th anniversary of the publication of "The Origin of Species". Talks will not only be based on the book's ideas, but also on how the theory of evolution has evolved over the last 150 years.

The seminar will be held in the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks Saturday 28th November from 10am until 4pm. Booking for the seminar is essential as places are limited. Individual tickets cost €20 per person including lunch (concession tickets at €12 also available- please see our website for more details). Booking opens Tuesday September 29th 2009- please note we cannot accept group bookings.

For more information or to request a booking form please contact seminar organiser Catherine McGuinness on 01 6486307 or email educationnh@museum.ie.
